Why should I take the CCRN® Course?

Learn from a practicing faculty member who is an acute care nurse practitioner working in the AND and sits for the CCRN® every renewal, so the content and exam strategies stay current and real.

Every lesson tracks the latest AACN Adult CCRN® test plan, including the new 2025 items, so you’re not wasting time on low-yield topics, and your instructor knows how items are tested.

Binge the course lessons on days off or chip away between shifts. An easy-to-use system means you can easily navigate the course on your schedule and the areas you wish to study.

You’re not just “reviewing content”; you’re training to answer exam-style questions under pressure, with repeated exposure to patterns, traps, and high-yield clinical reasoning.

Critical Care Expertise

Lee Taylor-Vaughan, PhD, JD, AG-ACNP, CCRN-CSC-CMC, PCCN, CFRN, has more than 30 years in emergency and critical care and currently practices as an acute care NP in a cardiothoracic surgery ICU in the NYC metro area. Lee has taught over 100,000 nurses over the years and has co-authored the nationally recognized CCRN® and CEN® review books with Laura Gasparis Vonfrolio.

What makes Lee the perfect instructor is that every time his certification is due for renewal, he retakes the CCRN exam. That means what he teaches is based on clinical practice and the current exam, not a memory of how it felt decades ago. His clinical approach, combined with top-exam tips, will help you pass!

Real-world ICU practice. Exam-level depth. No fluff.

What is your pass rate for the exam?

Our course evaluation and follow-up with students indicate that our pass rate is ~97%. However, AACN does not track who took a review course and what course they took. Although most pass the exam on their first attempt—when taking our course—about 2-3 for every 100 nurses say they failed it by 1-2 points. Although this statistic is unfortunate, it specifically applies to those who fail by 1 or 2 points, indicating that they typically understood the content but experienced test-taking anxiety. We have found that those who take more practice questions have a higher pass rate, and those who take fewer practice questions do have a higher risk of failing the exam. Our test bank has over 3000 questions.

Once I register, could you please let me know the timeframe I have to complete the course?

You must complete the course before your access to the program expires. You are able to register for 30-day access, 90-day access, or 120-day access (6 months). Once you have reached the expiration date to access the course, you are no longer able to access the course content.
