Why should I take the CCRN® Course?

Learn from a practicing faculty member who is an acute care nurse practitioner working in the AND and sits for the CCRN® every renewal, so the content and exam strategies stay current and real.

Every lesson tracks the latest AACN Adult CCRN® test plan, including the new 2025 items, so you’re not wasting time on low-yield topics, and your instructor knows how items are tested.

Binge the course lessons on days off or chip away between shifts. An easy-to-use system means you can easily navigate the course on your schedule and the areas you wish to study.

You’re not just “reviewing content”; you’re training to answer exam-style questions under pressure, with repeated exposure to patterns, traps, and high-yield clinical reasoning.

The CCRN® Review Course is a structured, high-yield review designed for working nurses who want a realistic, clinically grounded path to certification—without wasting time on low-yield content. The course is delivered as recorded live sessions you can watch on demand, so you get the energy and pacing of a live review with the flexibility to pause, rewind, and revisit tricky concepts on your schedule.

The course includes several modules that follow the most recent AACN Adult CCRN® exam guidelines, focusing on clinical judgment, recognizing patterns, and exam strategies, so you’re not just memorizing facts, you’re learning to think like the test and like an ICU nurse under pressure.

Whether you’re preparing for CCRN® or you just need a serious critical care refresher, this course is built to help you:

  • Organize and review core ICU and progressive care concepts
  • Connect physiology to real clinical scenarios
  • Recognize AACN’s favorite testing patterns
  • Walk into the exam with a more calm and structured approach

This review is built as a multi-lesson, system-based course that aligns with the Adult CCRN® exam blueprint.

Lee Taylor-Vaughan, PhD, JD, AG-ACNP, CCRN-CSC-CMC, PCCN, CFRN, has more than 30 years in emergency and critical care and currently practices as an acute care NP in a cardiothoracic surgery ICU in the NYC metro area. Lee has taught over 100,000 nurses over the years and has co-authored the nationally recognized CCRN® and CEN® review books.

What makes Lee the perfect instructor is that every time his certification is due for renewal, he retakes the CCRN exam. That means what he teaches is based on clinical practice and the current exam, not a memory of how it felt decades ago. His clinical approach, combined with top-exam tips and his sense of humor, will help you pass!
